Bortolin Nominated As Liberal Party Candidate

Windsor’s Ward 3 councillor has been nominated by the Ontario Liberal Party to run as a candidate for Windsor West in the upcoming election.

City Councillor Rino Bortolin was nominated on Tuesday and will now run against incumbent NDP MPP Lisa Gretzky leading up to the provincial election on June 7.

“Windsorites need a representative who works as hard as they do and I’m ready to fight for their interests at Queen’s Park,” Bortolin said in a media release. “I have tirelessly advocated for my constituents at the municipal level. I believe I can offer them effective representation on the provincial stage.”

Rino Bortolin was elected as a city councillor in the 2014 municipal election.  He is currently the head of the culinary tourism steering committee for Tourism Windsor-Essex-Pelee Island and has served as treasurer of Queen Victoria Public School Parent Council for the last five years.

According to his party, Bortolin is the tenth municipal elected official nominated to run for the Ontario Liberals in the 2018 election.
