Remington Park Fire Causes $100,000 In Damage

Investigators believe a house fire over the weekend started with an overloaded electrical outlet.

Windsor Fire and Rescue were called to the home around 1pm Sunday.

Firefighters arrived at the home on South Pacific Ave and Waverly St. in the city's Remington Park area. They found smoke pouring out of the home's main level.

The fire was declared out within a half hour of the alarm. The occupants were not home at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Damage was estimated at $100,000, with extensive smoke damage throughout the home.

Investigators said Sunday evening that the fire began in the basement.
