Provided by Amherstburg PoliceThe Amherstburg police officer involved in a police cruiser crash last Wednesday has been charged.
Amherstburg police say the officer is charged with making an unsafe turn.
It happened on County Rd. 9 near South Side Rd.
Investigators say the officer was attempting to make a U-turn to stop a speeding vehicle when he pulled in front of another vehicle.
Police say the emergency lights were activated.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
Both couples won in the April 11 draw.
