Flood Watch Issued For Windsor-Essex

There's a flood watch in effect for Windsor-Essex.

The Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) has issued the flood watch until Tuesday at 9am. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected Monday and Tuesday with rain between 30 mm and 50 mm.

Thirty millimetres to 60 mm of rain already fell across the region this weekend.

ERCA says flooding is possible because of the wet conditions, especially in low lying areas near major waterways and shoreline areas.

ERCA also says high intensity isolated thunderstorms could cause flooding and drainage problems, especially in urban areas.
