Windsor NDP incumbents are keeping their focus on winning their ridings and not on becoming cabinet ministers.
When Blackburn News asked if they would accept a cabinet position, Percy Hatfield and Lisa Gretzky would only say that it's too soon to answer that.
NDP leader Andrea Horwath says there’s more than a good chance at least one local MPP will be a cabinet minister if her party forms the next government.
Hatfield says we have to wait to see what happens June 7.
"If somebody was to go out and say now I want this and I expect that and then we fall flat on our face in our own riding, it doesn't look very good does it," says Hatfield.
Hatfield says Windsor-Essex will get its fair share of attention even if there's no local cabinet minister.
"If we form government, it doesn't matter if you get into cabinet or you're in the middle of the pack or the back bench, you will have the ear of the Premier of Ontario," he says.
Hatfield says Windsor-Essex will be impressed with Horwath as premier because she's familiar with area issues and the auto industry.
"If we form the government, Andrea Horwath will be the best premier this area ever had," Hatfield says.
Meantime, Ontario Conservative leader Doug Ford will be in Windsor Thursday night for a rally.
