Man Charged In Comber Break-In

A man is facing charges after a break-in at a Lakeshore home earlier this week.

Ontario Provincial Police say a man walked into the home in Comber around 4pm Monday. The female homeowner was home at the time with her children, according to police.

The man immediately left the house and fled on a bicycle.

OPP Constable Stephanie Moniz says the homeowner recognized the man later Monday evening and confronted him. Police allege the suspect hit the woman with his bicycle, punched her in the arm, and fled when the woman said police were going to be called.

The suspect, a 59-year-old Lakeshore man, was identified through security camera footage.

He is charged with entering an occupied home without permission and assault with a weapon. He will answer the charges in a Windsor court on July 9.
