Joseph Jackson, the patriarch of the musical Jackson family, has died.
The Associated Press reports a person close to the family, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, says that he died but had no additional information.
Family sources tell TMZ that Jackson died early Wednesday morning in Los Angeles reportedly following a battle with cancer.
He was 89.
