The Downtown Mission's dental clinic will officially open soon.
The grand opening took place Tuesday morning, but appointments will start being booked Thursday and the clinic should open to the public next week.
The clinic is at 875 Ouellette on the third floor and offers dental services to those who live in poverty.
Ontario Oral Health says 2.3-million people in the province cannot afford dental care.
The Mission says one in six people in the Windsor area lives in poverty.
Officials with the Downtown Mission say it seeks to fill this gap in oral health delivery through a preventative and restorative dental care program for impoverished, low-income, and homeless individuals.
The clinic is named in honour of local philanthropist, Al Quesnel who donated over $1-million for the dental clinic and other Mission programs and initiatives.
