A Tecumseh man wanted for kidnapping, robbery, forcible confinement and uttering death threats in Windsor has been arrested in the Bancroft area.
Police say Anthony Pompa, 25, was arrested early Sunday morning after a police chase involving the OPP. They say the vehicle was reported stolen in Leamington and the driver failed to stop for police. Pompa was allegedly driving dangerously as he tried to get away and the pursuit came to an end after officers deployed a spike belt.
Investigators say the suspect ran away but was arrested after a brief foot chase. Police seized various stolen items from the vehicle, including firearms. Pompa has been charged with five counts of possession of stolen property, flight from police and dangerous driving.
Windsor police issued an arrest warrant for Pompa after a man was forced into a vehicle on Wyandotte St., just east of Pillette Rd. last week and brought to a house. The victim was able to get away to call police from a convenience store on Strabane Ave. near Riverside Dr. Windsor police say the victim knows the suspect.
