A dog owner has been charged after a dog attack in Lasalle.
Lasalle police say it happened Wednesday night on Michael Crescent. According to police, a 5-year-old Labrador/Husky mix attacked a four-year-old Shih-tzu. Investigators says the attacking dog managed to get off his leash and grabbed the smaller dog by the back of the neck as it went by on a sidewalk. Police say there were no bite marks but add this is not the first time such an incident has occurred with this dog.
The owner has been charged with "permitting a dog to bite, attacking, threatening, harassing, chasing, and killing or injuring a domestic animal." The maximum fine upon conviction is $5,000.
Lasalle police are reminding residents with dogs about their responsibilities as dog owners and urge them to review the Town's dog ownership bylaws. They can be found by clicking here.
