A Windsor man is facing charges related to at least six holdups.
Windsor Police say three of those robberies took place early Thursday morning. Police were first called around 1:30am to a restaurant on Huron Church Rd. near Totten Rd. A suspect had tried to force his way into the eatery, but employees were able to bar the doors and keep him out. The suspect was also seen damaging a nearby parked vehicle.
The second incident occurred around 2am on Lauzon Rd. near Yolanda. Police responded to a convenience store at that location on a robbery report. Constable Andy Drouillard says the suspect entered the store with a knife and demanded money and cigarettes. The suspect left and fled southbound on Lauzon.
The same suspect was then seen around 3am at a convenience store on Campbell Ave. and Rooney St. The suspect entered the store, physically grabbed the employee, threatened the clerk with injury and demanded money. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen running westbound along the railway tracks. No weapon was seen on the suspect.
No one was injured in these crimes, says Drouillard.
Investigators were soon able to link this suspect with three other robberies that happened on Monday night.
The suspect was found around 1pm Thursday on Millen St. near Brock St. and was arrested without incident. The 21-year-old man is facing six counts of robbery and one count of mischief.
