The family of Mark Boscariol has issued a statement following the closure of the late businessman's three Windsor restaurants.
Last Thursday, the Good Neighbour Restaurant in Walkerville, and Snack Bar-B-Q and the Downtown Pizza Company downtown suddenly closed their doors.
Boscariol passed away on July 26 of an apparent heart attack.
The statement, sent to the media Monday morning by Melinda Munro at Munro Strategic Perspective, reads:
"In the course of administering Mark's estate, it was determined that the company operating the three restaurants... was insolvent. As is common in small businesses, the founder is the glue that keeps the business together through good times and tough times. Mark was that glue.
"However, on reflection this decision, while difficult, is the most appropriate for the family at this time. Their hearts are with the staff and the community members who are affected."
The release continues to say the family requests privacy and that there will be no further statements.
