More Racing Charges Laid By Essex OPP

Another racer has been nabbed by the Ontario Provincial Police in Essex County.

Police were called about a vehicle speeding westbound on Hwy. 401 in Tecumseh Thursday morning. They allege a 25-year-old Brampton man was clocked at more than 150 km/hr and has been charged with racing a vehicle. His vehicle and his licence have both been taken away for seven days.

Essex OPP say a total of 25 charges were laid Wednesday morning, including the racing charge, a fail to move over charge, and various moving violations.

"Excessive speeds, failure to move over and violations of various driving statues will continue to remain the focus of OPP Officers patrolling our highways, county roads and municipal streets," says Glenn Miller, Essex County OPP detachment commander. "Driving is a privilege so don't lose that right and help to keep everyone safe, including yourself."
