UPDATE: Downtown Shooting Now A Murder

An overnight shooting in downtown Windsor has turned into a murder investigation.

Police say a man died in the hospital after being shot on Monday at approximately 2:40am on Ouellette Ave. near University Ave. Investigators say several people scattered from the scene when they heard shots.

A woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The deceased man is a 20-year-old from Windsor who has connections to the Toronto area. The injured woman is a 19-year-old Windsor resident.

Investigators say two men shot the victim several times and they believe this was a targeted attack. The two male suspects ran away towards Chatham St.
