More flooding at Windsor's Downtown Mission

For the second time in a week, the Downtown Mission Wellness Centre has flooded.

Heavy rain Tuesday morning caused the latest damage in the basement of the centre at 875 Ouellette Ave.

A restoration company worked through the weekend to restore elevator service after a flood last week, but now the elevator is out of service again.

"We will continue to work as quickly as we can to ensure programs and services will continue," said Executive Director, Ron Dunn hoping programs are not affected. "The cumulative damage sustained from these two floods is close to $200,000."

The mission's social enterprise "Chari-Tees" is closed temporarily during the latest cleanup.
