Interested in joining the dedicated crew of Windsor firefighters?
The city of Windsor has begun the process of taking online applications for potential Windsor Fire and Rescue openings in the 2018-2019 recruitment season. Any one who thinks they have what it takes is encouraged to apply.
In order to be considered, applicants must be, at the time of application, 18 years of age or older; be legally entitled to work in Canada; and have at least an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or an Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency.
If you are hired, you must also be in possession of a current, valid, and lawful class-D driver's licence with a Z endorsement, for the purpose of driving a city vehicle; as well as a driver's abstract.
Upon receipt of the online application, the city's human resources department will look at each one to determine eligibility, and invite those who have met the requirements to participate in the written aptitude and assessment tests, as well as a physical agility test. Only those who pass all three will move on to an interview phase.
The online application is available on the official City of Windsor website. Applications are only accepted online, and the city encourages those without regular access to a computer to use one at their local public library. Those without an email address are asked to visit the city's HR department at 400 City Hall Square E., suite 408 and complete an application there.
Complete information and frequently-asked questions are available on the city's website. Deadline is noon sharp on Friday, November 9.
