Chrysler Pacifica minivan sales sag in Canada but soar in the U.S.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Canada (FCA) is reporting that Canadian sales of the Windsor-built Chrysler Pacifica minivan were down again last month.

The automaker said the number of Pacificas sold last month dropped by 53 per cent compared to sales in October of 2017. Pacifica sales went from 457 last October to 216 last month.

However, FCA reports that year to date Canadian sales are up nine per cent so far this year. The number of Pacificas sold in the first 10 months of this year is 5,543 compared to 5,106 sold during the same period last year.

The automaker also reported a 57 per cent drop in Pacifica sales in September. FCA Canada said it sold 191 Pacificas in September compared to 444 sold in September of 2017.

The automaker reported record Canadian sales for the Windsor-built Pacifica minivan in June and July.

In the U.S., FCA said the Chrysler Pacifica posted record October sales. The automaker reports Pacifica sales increased 22 per cent to 9,277 vehicles in the U.S.

The automaker adds year to date American sales for the Pacifica are up seven per cent as well.
