The Greater Essex County District School Board has picked a site for a new consolidated school in Forest Glade.
The public school board said Parkview School and Eastwood School students will go to the new school to be built on Parkview Public School property on Stillmeadow Road. Board officials added the decision was made following an extensive review of all the available properties within the combined catchment area of the two schools.
In January, the Ontario Ministry of Education awarded the school board a $13.2 million grant for a school of 501 student spaces and 4 dedicated childcare rooms.
The board said students will be able to remain at their schools during construction.
The new school is expected to be open for the 2020-2021 school year.
