Will automated vehicles encourage more sex on the road?

A recent study has found that driverless cars will change hospitality trends in the future and enable more sex in moving vehicles.

Researchers at the University of Surrey and the University of Oxford in England said automated vehicles will affect hotels, events, restaurants and bars in ways not yet meaningfully considered by the tourism industry. They believe sex in moving autonomous vehicles will become a growing phenomenon and "hotels-by-the-hour" are likely to be replaced by those vehicles.

Scott Cohen and Debbie Hopkins added that restaurants may find themselves in competition with driverless cars that become moving restaurants or combine urban sightseeing with dining, much like dinner cruises.

Cohen and Hopkins said hotels will also be affected because passengers can decide to sleep in their car while travelling to their final destination, rather than staying overnight in a hotel.

On the bright side, they think drunk driving will be a thing of the past because those who consume alcohol are now riding in an automated vehicle. The researchers also said they feel people might drink more at bars and restaurants and may spread drinking out across greater distances.
