UPDATE: Attempted murder charge laid in east Windsor crash

One person is facing attempted murder charges following a crash that took place Saturday afternoon.

Windsor police say it happened around 3:30 p.m. Saturday on Hawthorne Dr., near Meadowbrook Lane, about one block off Lauzon Pkwy. An SUV somehow was driven off the street and crashed into a home, striking a pedestrian in the process and pinning the victim against the home.

Police say the driver was arrested at the scene, and the pedestrian remains in hospital in critical condition with serious, life-threatening injuries.

No confirmation has yet been provided by police, and they have not released any additional details, but witnesses to the incident and those posting to the BlackburnNewsWindsor.com Facebook page say it was a teenager that was hit by the vehicle.

The victim and driver have not been identified.

Anyone who witnessed the crash who has not already spoken with police is asked to call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700.
