Spitfires fall to Otters 7-4

The Windsor Spitfires suffered their third straight loss with a 7-4 defeat at the hands of the Erie Otters on Thursday.

The Spitfires made it on the board first with Cole Purboo scoring a goal 12:19 into the game, but the Otters were able to tie things up with a goal 30 seconds after.  Luke Boka scored late in the first period to give Windsor a 2-1 lead heading into the second.

Windsor's lead was shortlived with the Otters scoring three back-to-back goals in the first five minutes of the second frame to give Erie a 4-2 lead. Lev Starikov and Tyler Angle answered with a goal each for the Spitfires to tie things up heading into the third.

The Otters dominated in the final frame by score three unanswered goals to earn the win.

Despite the loss, the Spitfires outshot the Otters 33-26.

The Spitfires will look to bounce back on Friday when they head to Saginaw to take on the Spirit. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
