Windsor's parking app successful

It would appear Windsor drivers have fully embraced the city's parking app.

Since it was implemented a year ago, it has been used more than 60,000 times. It reached the benchmark this week.

"We knew drivers would appreciate the convenience of no longer needing to search for change to park, but the uptake and feedback have been even better than we anticipated," said Parking Compliance and Enforcement Supervisor Bill Kralovensky.

He said usage is higher when post-secondary students are living in the city.

"When students are in town, usage runs at over 11 per cent. When the students are out for the summer, the percentage drops to just under 8 per cent," he noted.

Coins are still accepted at city meters, for those who have not downloaded the app yet.

Those who want to download it on their smartphone can find the link on the city's website.
