Resident sprayed with pepper spray during break-in

A Tecumseh resident is recovering after getting a face full of what is believed to be pepper spray during a break-in at his apartment.

The Ontario Provincial Police were called to an apartment building on Tecumseh Rd. near Shawnee Rd. in Tecumseh around 12:30 a.m. last Thursday after a group of masked me forced their way into one of the units.

A man and his son were asleep at the time, but there was a confrontation when they woke up, and one of the residents was sprayed in the face with the noxious substance.

The suspects fled in a light-coloured four-door sedan with tinted windows and were last seen speeding off southbound on Lesperance Rd.

The victims suffered minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and police ask anyone with information to call them at 519-723-2491 or 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can be left with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.catchcrooks.com.
