Windsor police are reminding drivers once again that driving while impaired doesn't pay.
Officers from the WPS Traffic Enforcement Unit conducted two RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program checkpoints within the city of Windsor late Friday night and into early Saturday. According to their official Twitter page, one driver was arrested for impaired driving. It was not disclosed, however, whether it was by alcohol or drug.
Between the two checkpoints, officers interviewed a total of 500 drivers throughout the night. Of them, six roadside tests were performed, and four automatic three-day licence suspensions were imposed.
Police also say seven enforcement actions for various offences were performed.
