Three people have been charged with 68 gun and drug offences in Windsor.
Windsor police said several guns and drugs were seized at a south Windsor motel on Friday after an investigation was launched earlier this month.
"Surveillance was conducted on the subject of the investigation," said police in a news release on Tuesday. "Drug and Gun Enforcement Unit (DIGS) members determined the subject was frequenting a motel room located in the 1400 block of Division Road."
Police said two men and a woman were arrested inside a motel room on Division Road near Cabana Road.
Officers recovered a loaded 9 mm pistol, a loaded sawed-off shotgun, another shotgun, suspected crystal methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl powder, over $5,000 in Canadian cash, ammunition, a digital scale, numerous cell phones, and a bill counter during a search of the room, the suspects, and a car.
Michael Pereira, 40, of no fixed address, Brett Harris, 41, from Windsor, and Rickie-Lee Barker, 30, a female of no fixed address, are charged.
"The illicit drug trade and the possession of illegal firearms often go hand in hand," added police. "An illegal and loaded firearm is a danger to our entire community."
"This DIGS investigation resulted in the removal of such dangers from our streets," police said.
