Border guards at Ambassador Bridge find cocaine

A Waterloo man faces charges after border guards at the Ambassador Bridge found cocaine in a tractor-trailer.

The truck coming back into Canada was sent to secondary inspection on February 19.

Officers with the Canada Border Services Agency found six bricks weighing 8.2 kilograms of what they believe to be cocaine in the sleeper cab.

"This seizure demonstrates the hard work and perseverance of our officers who are committed to stopping illegal activity at our borders and to protecting our communities," said Tamara Allard, the district director of Ambassador Bridge Operations in a news release.

The CBSA still has possession of the truck.

Windsor police arrested the suspect.

The agency urges anyone with information about suspicious cross-border activity to call 1-888-502-9060.
