Spitfires shot down by Petes 5-1

The Windsor Spitfires dropped a 5-1 decision to the Peterborough Petes in OHL action on Thursday.

The Petes were on the board first with a goal just over seven minutes into the first period, but Will Cuylle added a goal for Windsor 15:51 into the frame to tie things up.

Peterborough scored the only goal of the second period to take the lead, which they extended with another goal early in the third. The Petes added another two back-to-back goals in the second half of the third period to win with a four-goal advantage.

Despite the loss, the Spitfires outshot the Petes 30-19.

The Spitfires are back on the ice on Friday to take on the Guelph Storm. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. in Guelph.
