UPDATE: Parkwood fire damages vehicle, two houses

A vehicle and two homes sustained serious damage in an early-morning fire.

Windsor Fire and Rescue firefighters were called to Parkwood Avenue near Lens Avenue around 5 a.m. Monday. A parked vehicle was engulfed in flames with fire spreading to the homes on either side.

The fire, which Windsor Fire confirmed began in the vehicle, was put out there first, though crews continued to fight flames in the attic of one of the homes as dawn broke.

Investigators spent much of the morning determining a damage estimate, which came to $120,000 total for the homes and the vehicle.

A cause has not yet been disclosed but Windsor police Sergeant Steve Betteridge said Monday afternoon that arson investigators remained at the scene. Anyone with information on this fire is asked to call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700 ext. 4330 or Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).

No injuries were reported.
