There's a new hotel coming to the Town of Lakeshore.
The 105 room Holiday Inn Express and Suites will be built at 14 Amy Croft Dr. near the corner of Manning Road. Petretta Construction is building the new hotel and said it will include a meeting room, a fitness centre, a patio area, and a pool. The hotel will be 5,900 square metres and 70 feet tall.
Petretta said construction starts in August 2019.
The Town of Lakeshore waived building fees last year to try and attract a hotel to the town. Town officials said Lakeshore is the fastest growing municipality in Essex County, and with the popularity of the Atlas Tube Centre visitors and guests will be looking for accommodation.
Bringing hotel development to Lakeshore has been one of town council’s key strategic priorities for years. Councillors have said market research has shown the need for a hotel is immediate.
