McGregor Music Festival breaks fundraising record

The oldest music festival in the Windsor-Essex area is celebrating a record-breaking fundraising milestone.

The 30th annual McGregor Music Festival, which was held on June 9 at Co-An Park, has raised $75,000 to support RHINO Laryngoscope and the Patient Assistance Fund for the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation. The festival featured live music performed by eight local bands, along with a car show and pig auction.

"The music festival had over 700 people attend to listen to eight local bands and participate in the raffles and the famous pig auction,” said event chair Sue LeClair in a media release.

Committee members for the festival held a celebration on Tuesday.

Since the event's inception 30 years ago, the McGregor Music Festival has raised more than $325,000 for the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.
