Personal support worker accused of stealing

A Windsor woman has been charged with stealing from one of her clients.

Windsor police said they began a theft investigation in July after an unspecified amount of cash was allegedly taken from the home of an elderly woman. The investigation revealed that the suspect was a woman employed as an in-home personal support worker (PSW) for the resident.

The suspect, identified by police as 32-year-old Monica Rankin, was arrested on Wednesday, according to Constable Talya Natyshak. She is facing one charge of theft under $5,000. This charge has not been proven in court.

Police believe there may be additional victims since the alleged crime is related to the suspect's employment as a PSW.
