Windsor police investigating gunfire

Windsor police are investigating after the sound of gunfire rang through a west-end neighbourhood over the weekend.

Police officers were called to the area of Bloomfield Road at Prince Road around 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. They found a spent shell casing on the road.

Officers canvassed the area and interviewed witnesses. It's believed four to five shots were fired and two vehicles were seen fleeing the area. The first vehicle was a smaller white sedan with tinted windows and the second was a blue or grey older model Nissan Altima.

There are no reports of any injuries but police believe there may be damage on one or both of the vehicles.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor Police Service at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477.
