More closures planned for Detroit-Windsor Tunnel

Several nightly closures are planned for the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel as renovations continue.

The international crossing will be closed on four Thursdays this fall- October 17, October 24, October 31 and November 7.

Each closure will be between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The closures are part of the ongoing $22 million tunnel renovation project.

Although a bulk of the project has been completed, officials with the tunnel say that commuters can expect a few more additional nightly closures in the future.
