Vandals target election signs in Kingsville, Leamington

Police are looking for suspects after several election campaign signs were damaged on properties in the Kingsville and Leamington areas.

The Ontario Provincial Police said a number of residents have issued complaints about damaged signs and police officials are reminding the public that anyone caught damaging or removing signs can face charges under the Criminal Code. They can also be charged under the Trespass to Property Act.

Police have also released a suspect description of a possible suspect. Officers are looking for an older man with white hair, who was seen driving an older model black pick-up truck.

Anyone with information regarding an incident of election sign vandalism is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
