FCA workers fill 10 Pacificas with toys

Christmas will be a little merrier for hundreds of families across Windsor-Essex thanks to FCA assembly plant employees.

On Tuesday afternoon, FCA employees delivered hundreds of toys for Sparky's Toy Drive at Windsor Fire Station 5. Windsor Fire Captain and Toy Drive Co-ordinator Sean Costello said workers at the Windsor Assembly Plant always go the extra mile.

"The generosity is unbelievable," he exclaimed. "These employees come in and drop five, 10, 20, 50 and hundred dollar bills into the boot for Sparky's Toy Drive every year."

In total, 10 Windsor-made Chrysler Pacifica minivans were packed full of toys for Sparky's. Costello said it's not surprising to him to see the large amount FCA employees were able to come through with.

"I didn't know what to expect but they always exceed expectations. They are by far our biggest donator every year," said Costello.

Now that the toys have been handed over, Costello said that around 3,200 local children will benefit from the toy drive.

"We have many families in our community in need," he said. "At Sparky's Toy Drive, we always believe that every kid should open a toy at Christmas."
