Someone is getting an early Christmas present after winning over $90,000 through the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation 50/50 raffle.
The take-home prize for the raffle is $92,832. The winning number is A-2161755.
"I don't think we dreamed that it would get this high but over the last week, it just grew and grew. People were very excited and the higher they saw the pot of course so many people came back and bought more chances," said Gisele Seguin, director of the WRH Foundation.
The hospital will put its share of the money towards purchasing a new 3D mammography machine, a new diagnostic imagining machine.
"It's just a better image of the breast. So it will allow them possibly to detect cancer a little earlier, there's also less compression, better images, less false positives," said Seguin.
The new machine should be arriving at the hospital in January. It costs $500,000 to purchase. Seguin said the foundation has almost reached its goal for the new machine.
The lottery winner has six months to claim their prize. They must provide proof of purchase and picture ID. If the prize money is not claimed the money will be turned over to another charity.
