Windsor police have arrested a 31-year-old Guelph woman following two separate knife-point robberies at local stores.
The first incident happened on Tuesday around 6 p.m. Police say a man and a woman entered a store on Walker Road and filled a shopping cart with merchandise. Both attempted to leave the store without paying. The pair were confronted by a store employee and the woman confronted the employee with a kitchen-style knife in an "aggressive manner". The employee then backed away and the two suspects fled the store.
Another incident happened on Wednesday at a department store on Tecumseh Road East. At around 9 p.m., two suspects entered a department store and filled shopping baskets with merchandise. As they attempted to leave, an employee approached the pair. Police say the female suspect brandished a knife and they left the store.
On Friday, the involved female, who is alleged to have brandished the weapon in each case, was located, identified and arrested.
Tonya Wright is charged with six counts of robbery, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000 and theft under $5000.
