A Windsor man is facing manslaughter charges after another man died following a physical altercation on Christmas Day.
Windsor police were called to the area of Tecumseh Road East and Alexis Road for a property damage call around 12:30 a.m. on December 25. They were told that a man damaged a vehicle in the area, fled the scene, and was being chased by members of the public.
"A physical altercation ensued between the suspect and the citizens during the incident. No weapons were involved," police said in a statement released Friday. "During the altercation, an adult male suffered a medical emergency. He was subsequently transported to hospital where he sadly passed away shortly after arrival."
According to police, the male suspect fled the area prior to police arrival but was located a short time later and arrested without incident.
Brandon Cooper, 37, of Windsor is charged with manslaughter, mischief under $5,000, and possession of methamphetamine.
