A 74-year-old Essex man has died of injuries sustained in a crash near Cottam.
The Ontario Provincial Police said William Hillman was driving a vehicle that collided with a tractor-trailer around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday on the highway at County Road 27, or Belle River Road.
Hillman was alone in the vehicle at the time, and the driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.
The highway was closed for several hours between County Road 27 and Marsh Road while police investigated.
Hospitals in southwestern Ontario are feeling the effects of underfunding, according to a new report by the CCPA.
Fortunately, no children were on board the bus, but the drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
Both couples won in the April 11 draw.
