Hats On For Healthcare aiming high with this year's campaign

The Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation is hoping its annual Hats On for Healthcare campaign raises $100,000 this year for new critical equipment in the intensive care unit.

On March 4, 2020, the foundation is encouraging you to gather your co-workers, don funky hats and donate to the cause.

The funds from the campaign will go toward purchasing a continual renal replacement therapy machine and a transport ventilator, two pieces of equipment needed for critical patients in the hospital.

"The ventilator helps patients that are critically ill be transported out of the critical care unit down for important tests that they can't have at the bedside. It will also help patients from Windsor-Essex go to other communities if they need a higher level of care," said Nicole Krywionek Director of Critical Care and Cardiology.

Since the campaign's inception 11 years ago the campaign has raised $350,000 for equipment at the hospital.

The campaign was launched this week at École Élémentaire Catholique Monseigneur Jean Noël. Students from all grades created their own hats and participated in a fashion show to raise awareness for the event.
