It's back to business as usual at a Windsor restaurant after it had to be evacuated over the weekend.
On Saturday, Ming Wah Chinese & Sushi Buffet was evacuated when customers and staff began coughing and complaining of a strong gas-like odour. Manager Ricky Kwong said the fire department was called and they determined the smell came from bear spray that was let off in the washroom and circulated through the ventilation system.
"I think someone thought it would be funny, wanted to have a laugh," said Kwong.
The restaurant has been ventilated and is open as usual. Kwong said no customers or staff were seriously injured.
The restaurant does have surveillance cameras but Kwong said there is no evidence of who let off the spray. The restaurant is asking anyone who may have information to come forward.
