Lakeshore hires Ipsos Public Affairs to conduct survey

Over the next two weeks, Lakeshore residents may get a phone call from the pollster, Ipsos Public Affairs.

The town is conducting a community survey as part of an in-depth review of the way it delivers services.

Polling started Thursday, and the survey should not take more than five minutes.

The survey will provide a statistically accurate accounting of both urban and rural opinions.

"Sustainable municipal service delivery is crucial in order for Lakeshore to tackle the challenges our community faces," said Chief Administrative Officer, Truper McBride. "By undertaking this review, we will be able to identify potential opportunities for service improvements and alterations."

According to Statistics Canada's latest figures, Lakeshore has a population of 36,611. It is the fastest-growing municipality in Essex County. In 2018, it issued 973 building permits, and currently, there are 1,200 new homes in various stages of construction.
