Got an idea what the Greater Essex County District School Board could name its new school in Forest Glade?
The school board is looking for suggestions, so it has posted a survey on its website.
"Two simple questions and then an area for a suggestion," said board spokesman Scott Scantlebury. "This is just the first step in the process."
A committee will vet names suggested by the community before sending them to the board of trustees for consideration.
"What we're looking for primarily is ideas that inspire and encourage the students that attend the school," continued Scantlebury. "Something that meets with the character of the community."
The survey will be open until February 28.
The new $13.2 million school will take students from both Parkview and Eastwood Public Schools. It will go up where Parkview is currently at the corner of Stillmeadow Road and Suffolk Street.
Construction starts this spring, and it could open in time for September 2021.
