Rogers Hometown Hockey comes to LaSalle

It will be a weekend of games, prize giveaways, activities, entertainment and, of course, hockey next weekend at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex.

Rogers Hometown Hockey is coming to LaSalle Saturday, February 22, and Sunday, February 23.

Fans can check out the Rogers Fan Hub, where NHL alumni Kirk Maltby will sign autographs and test their stickhandling skills in the Infinite Dangles Challenge.

They can also interact with NHL alumni at the Scotiabank Community Hockey Rink.

Scotiabank is donating $15,000 to local minor hockey associations in the region.

If you have never seen a "hockey acrobat" perform, Steve Goodtime is world-renowned for his juggling, stunts, fire tricks, and guitar solos.

Kids can face off against friends and family in the PLAYMOBIL NHL Arena, and Sobey's will hold a family barbeque with proceeds going to support minor hockey in LaSalle.

Sunday afternoon, the festival concludes with the Rogers Hometown Hockey outdoor viewing party, where Ron MacLean and Tara Slone host a special pre-game show before the showdown between the Calgary Flames and Detroit Red Wings on Sportsnet.

Gates open Saturday at noon and close at 6 p.m. On Sunday, they open at noon and close after the outdoor viewing party.
