Driving school instructor arrested for sexual assault

A Windsor driving school employee has been charged with inappropriately touching a student.

Windsor police launched their investigation earlier this month after a woman, who had been taking driving lessons, reported that she had been touched in a sexual manner by her instructor.

The suspect was located and arrested without incident on Thursday, according to Sergeant Steve Betteridge, public information officer.

The man faces two counts of sexual assault.

Police have not identified the suspect or the driving school he worked for. However, investigators have considered the possibility there are other victims.  They encouraged anyone who experienced a similar assault to come forward.

Anyone who believes they have been a victim of sexual assault should report it as soon as possible to Windsor police, using the service's online reporting page. If a victim believes they are in immediate danger, they should call 911 immediately.

People with information on this incident are urged to call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may also be submitted or to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
