The United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County will benefit from the generosity of Ford's Windsor employees.
Employees in Ford Canada's Windsor Operations, as well as its partners at Unifor Locals 200 and 240, Leadec Industrial Services, and Penske Logistics Canada, announced a grand total of $539,032 for the United Way during a ceremony at the Ford Windsor Engine Plant on Friday.
Tony Savoni, site manager for Ford Windsor Operations, is amazed by the continued support of Ford's Windsor employees.
"I am proud to speak for a team that continually demonstrates such a passionate commitment to the community," said Savoni. "We know this donation will be used to do amazing things, right here, in our own backyard, thanks to the tireless efforts of everyone at the United Way."
Matt Brannagan, chairman of the United Way Board of Directors, praised the ongoing efforts of Ford workers.
"It’s through this partnership that United Way is able to change so many lives in Windsor-Essex and ensure every child has an equal opportunity to succeed," said Brannagan.
Through this campaign, Ford Windsor Operations has contributed a total of $52 million to the United Way.
