Two charged in east-end robbery

Two people have been arrested in connection to a robbery in east Windsor.

At around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Windsor police were called to a convenience store on Jefferson Boulevard near Rose Street. An employee reported that two male suspects entered the store and sprayed a noxious substance. The suspects went behind the counter and stole merchandise from the store. The suspects took off on foot before police arrived.

Police found a knife at the store that they believed belonged to one of the suspects and it was also reported one of the suspects may have been in possession of a firearm.

The employee was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police identified the suspects and they were located at a residence Lauzon Road near Edgar Street around 3 a.m. The residence was held as a crime scene until police obtained a search warrant. They seized several items believed to be related to the robbery.

No firearm was located.

An adult male and a youth were both charged with robbery with an offensive weapon. Neither suspect is being named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
