Lakeshore taking applications for community grants

The Town of Lakeshore is encouraging those who want to make a difference to take advantage of a grant program.

The application period has been opened for the town's Community Benefit Fund Grant, which provides a monetary boost for organizations that benefit the people of Lakeshore.

To qualify for the benefit fund, an organization must be a charity that is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency, a registered non-profit organization, or an association or society otherwise recognized at law that is non-profit.

There is funding available in six categories - social and community services, senior or youth activities, historical, arts and cultural events or organizations; fundraisers for municipal projects, community beautification and protection of the environment, and event sponsorship.

The application form is available online at the town of Lakeshore's website. The deadline is 4:30 p.m., April 30.
