Suspect arrested for break and enters

Windsor police arrested and charged a man after multiple break and enters in Windsor last week.

Around 4:15 a.m. Friday, police were called to the area of Tecumseh Road and Parent Avenue for a report of a break and enter in progress. They saw a red Jeep Cherokee attached to a trailer they believed was involved in the crime. Officers tried to stop the vehicle but it took off. The trailer became unhitched and struck the police cruiser, causing minor damage.

Police pursued the car but they stopped the chase in the interest of public safety.

Police connected the person in the car to a separate break and enter on Marion Avenue Thursday night. The detached trailer was filled with stolen property from the house.

Friday afternoon, police found the stolen vehicle and a suspect in a parking lot on Wyandotte Street East near McDougall Street.

Police arrested and charged Jason Jackson, 35, with break and enter, possession of stolen property, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fail to stop after an accident and operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited.  None of the charges have been proven in court.
