UPDATE: Four displaced after east Windsor fire

A house fire in Windsor's east end has left four people homeless.

The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service first reported the fire one Riverdale Avenue near Jerome Street, shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday.  The fire department said the blaze started in the basement, in the area of the laundry machine and furnace.

No one was injured in the fire, which was reported out just after 11 p.m.

A fire investigator will be attending the scene to determine the cause of the blaze.

Damage is estimated around $300,000 and no cause has been determined at this time.
